Friends of Dudley Castle Meetings

Meetings are held at 7:30pm on the last Thursday of the month for members of The Friends of Dudley Castle and their guests only. Prospective members and guests are welcome, but will be asked to pay a small charge. Below is a list of the upcoming dates, locations and guest speakers.

Meetings are usually held at The Dudley Archives (map) except in summertime when they are held in the Castle Undercroft. On these occasions, access is via Fellows Gate, which will be opened at 7:25pm to allow all cars to go through at the same time.

  • ¬†Thursday 26th May 2022, 7:30pm – The Castle (please meet just before 7:30pm at the Fellows Gate): Colin Knipe will be speaking on the effects of the industrial revolution¬† on the Black Country.
  • Thursday 23rd June 2022, 7:30pm -The Castle (please meet just before 7:30pm at the Fellows Gate): Mary Bodfish will be speaking on the history of Smethwick
  • Thursday 28th July 2022, 7:30pm – The Castle (please meet just before 7:30pm at the Fellows Gate): Summer Event
  • Thursday 29th September 2022, 7:30pm – The Castle (please meet just before 7:30pm at the Fellows Gate): Alan Pearce will be speaking on ‘Himley Hall: Past, Present, and Future’
  • Thursday 27th October 2022, 7:30pm – Venue TBC: ¬†Elaine Joyce will be speaking on ‘Leverson the Garison at Dudley Castle’.
