Welcome To The Friends Of Dudley Castle

It is a pleasure to welcome you to this website and we hope that you will find it interesting. We ask for your patience as our site undertakes some maintenance and you may find some images or links unavailable for a short time.

ur Mission Statement is to support and promote Dudley Castle in every way possible locally, nationally and internationally as a major treasure of British Heritage.

The Friends of Dudley Castle try to be very active in promoting the Castle. These pages will give you an insight into the present day state of the Castle buildings, and a great deal of information about its history.

In recent years, the Trustees of Dudley Zoo have kindly set up a series of special tours of the Castle. All the tours were complemented by a programme of short lectures by former Castle Keeper, Adrian Durkin.

In 2018 he covered subjects such as Dudley's Nine Day Queen, The Spanish Armada and missile weapons and firearms used during the history of the Castle.

The programme for 2019 so far:

Friday 21st June 2019 Bows & Bangs
Wednesday 3rd July 2019 Lady Jane Grey (Nine Day Queen)

Pre-bookings only - call 01384 215313 or visit
